I've been involved in the martial arts for many years acting as
a guide to young people, helping them better themselves though Karate.
I've had to overcome many obstacles along the way, just like anyone
who has trained. The most important thing to me, after hearing all
my life the word "can't" or "you won't be able to
do" this or that
is to put the word "can" in,
and eliminate the word "can't". That's my desire.
Wanting to do something for kids and be a good role model for
them. I knew I would never be a great fighter or win a lot of trophies.
I wanted to teach that whatever physical problems you have, you
can rise above them. Anybody who walks though the door can think
"If this guy can do it, so can I". In the long run, show
everybody who walks in the door that they can do it.
To be an inspiration. To inspire people
There is a difference.
Anyone can teach someone to kick or punch. But to inspire someone
to be the best person they can be, that is my goal. Egos hurt martial
arts and self-gratification hurt the martial arts. The great teachers
are the ones who don't get rich on the martial arts but who care
and want to make a difference in the people they work with.
Building good people.
To make someone feel better and want to study martial arts for
life
.to give the gift of the arts to anyone who
wants it.
